At the courtesy reception, the Permanent Vice Chairman gave an overview about Quang Binh province which said that although still facing lots of difficulties and suffering from frequent natural disasters and climate change, Quang Binh is endowed by the nature with numerous beautiful landscapes, especially the World’s Natural Heritage of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park with a system of more than 300 caves. This is a great potential for the development of tourism in Quang Binh province. He also shared that Quang Binh has made a flourishing development in some recent years thanks in part to the help and support from foreign countries and INGOs, including Japan, through sponsoring many ODA and NGO projects and programs which are valuable and practical.

The Vice Chairman took this opportunity to thank Mr. Ichiro Ozawa for his spending time on the visit to Quang Binh within his short time in Vietnam; and through Mr. Ichiro Ozawa, to send our thanks to Japanese Government and people for their help and support to Vietnam in general and Quang Binh in particular in the past time, and hoped that the cooperative relationship between the two countries will increasingly grow.

The President of the People’s Life Party of Japan affirmed his wish to contribute to the development of Quang Binh and to the cooperative relationship between Vietnam – Japan in general, and between Quang Binh – Japan in particular. Besides, he also expressed his admiration to General Vo Nguyen Giap and said a part of the reason for his visit to Quang Binh is that this is the hometown and place where the General was born and rest in peace.

In the same afternoon, Mr. Ichiro Ozawa made a visit to General Vo Nguyen Giap’s grave in Vung Chua – Dao Yen.
