The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen The Huy, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs; representatives of the leadership of the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital Dong Hoi; former provincial leaders; and members of the Quang Tri Provincial Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Association.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegates respectfully laid flowers and observed a moment of silence in memory of Comrade Fidel Castro, an outstanding national hero of the Cuban people and the visionary leader who led the Cuban Revolution to complete victory, ushering in an era of independence for Cuba on January 1, 1959. His life and legacy are inseparably associated with the Cuban people’s enduring spirit of struggle, indomitable will, and aspiration for freedom.

The floral tribute ceremony also provided an opportunity to reflect on the heroic history of the Cuban Revolution, while reaffirming the special, faithful, and pure friendship between Viet Nam and Cuba, a relationship founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Comrade Fidel Castro, and continuously preserved and strengthened by successive generations of leaders and peoples of both countries.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen The Huy, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, presented flowers to congratulate Dr. Alfredo Garcia Mirete, a Cuban cancer surgery specialist currently working at the Viet Nam - Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi. The gesture expressed deep appreciation for the practical and valuable contributions made by Cuban experts to the healthcare sector in Viet Nam.
