During the working session with the Royal Thai Embassy in Viet Nam, Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya warmly received the delegation and held cordial discussions with its members.

During the meeting, Director General Tran Ngoc Lan extended his formal congratulations on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, which is also Thailand’s National Day and Father’s Day on 5 December. He affirmed that Quang Tri Province attaches great importance to the friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Thailand, especially as the two countries have elevated their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He expressed his hope that the Embassy would support the province in strengthening linkages with the Northeastern region of Thailand, an area with significant cooperation potential with Quang Tri in border trade, EWEC logistics, high-tech agriculture, cultural–historical tourism, education and training, and people-to-people exchanges. He also requested the Embassy’s assistance in promoting Quang Tri to Thai businesses and facilitating the province’s participation in upcoming investment, trade, and tourism promotion events.

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand acknowledged the province’s proposals and commended Quang Tri’s proactive efforts toward deeper international integration. The Ambassador emphasized that Quang Tri holds a strategic position along the East-West Economic Corridor, serving as a natural bridge between Viet Nam, Laos, and Thailand. She affirmed that the Embassy would extend its fullest support to foster substantive cooperation between Quang Tri and Thai localities, particularly in business connectivity and market expansion.

The Ambassador particularly noted that the year 2026 will mark the 50th anniversary of Viet Nam - Thailand diplomatic relations, and suggested that Quang Tri would be a highly suitable location to host one of the official commemorative events. She emphasized that this national-level celebration would present a significant opportunity for Quang Tri Province to showcase its image, potential, and competitive advantages such as organizing investment and trade promotion activities with Thai enterprises, expanding local-to-local cooperation, and strengthening tourism collaboration, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people diplomacy. The Ambassador stressed that the event would serve as an important platform for businesses of both countries to meet, exchange ideas, and explore partnership opportunities, while also symbolizing the enduring friendship between Viet Nam and Thailand.

During the working session with the Embassy of France in Viet Nam, Ms. Eva Dousset, Deputy Economic Counsellor and Deputy Head of the Economic Department of the French Embassy, welcomed and held discussions with the delegation.

Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Tran Ngoc Lan informed the French Embassy about the Centennial Celebration of Khe Sanh Arabica Coffee (1926–2026), which is expected to be held in Quang Tri Province in mid-2026. He proposed that the Embassy consider inviting the Ambassador to visit Quang Tri, attend the event, and deliver remarks at the Opening Ceremony. He also expressed the province’s hope that the Embassy would support the engagement of French experts, research institutes, and enterprises in conferences, exhibitions, and cultural exchange activities within the framework of the Festival; as well as assist in promoting the event through the Embassy’s communication channels. In addition, Quang Tri Province expressed interest in the Embassy’s support in facilitating connections between Quang Tri and the city of Bordeaux, France’s world-renowned wine capital.

Ms. Eva Dousset expressed enthusiasm for the Centennial Coffee Festival and noted that she would report the proposal to the Ambassador for consideration regarding participation and support to Quang Tri Province to the fullest extent possible. She affirmed that information about the event would be shared with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Viet Nam to strengthen engagement with the French business community and encourage interested enterprises to take part in the Festival’s activities and explore cooperation opportunities with Quang Tri Province.
