On the morning of November 29, the Vinh Long Department of Education and Training (DOET), in coordination with The Dariu Foundation (Switzerland) and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City - Vinh Long Campus, held the closing ceremony of the 2025 Digital Technology Festival. The event brought together more than 300 participants, 27 technology enterprises, 150 student participants, and dozens of innovative projects from various provinces.

Leaders of the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Foreign Affairs, representatives of The Dariu Foundation, and UEH Mekong took commemorative photos with the Robotics teams.

Leaders from the Departments of Education and Training of Vinh Long, Can Tho, Da Nang, and Quang Tri; representatives of relevant agencies, universities, and technology experts attended the festival. Notably, Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam Thomas Gass and Chairman of The Dariu Foundation Thomas Trub were present, underscoring the strong interest of international partners in promoting digital education in Vietnam. The Quang Tri delegation included Ms. Le Thi Huong - Director of the Department of Education and Training, and Mr. Thai Huu Lieu - Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, along with specialists, teachers, and students.

The 2025 Digital Technology Festival served as a dynamic platform connecting knowledge, technology, and innovation. It allowed students and teachers to directly explore and experience emerging technologies such as Robotics, IoT, AI Automation, Drone technology, AR/VR, and MakerLab. This year’s event featured vibrant activities, including competitions among 10 Robotics teams, 11 AI Hackathon projects, and 13 projects from Dariu Tech Clubs, attracting strong participation from attendees.

Among the participating delegations, students from Quang Tri impressed with a series of outstanding achievements. In the Robotics competition, Dong Ha High School claimed first prize, while Cua Tung High School won second prize. The two third prizes went to Trung Vuong Secondary-High School and Phan Van Dang Secondary-High School (Vinh Long).

The team from Dong Ha High School in Quang Tri Province received first prize in the Robotics Creative Playground category.

In the AI Hackathon, an event that demands creativity and technological thinking, Quang Tri students continued to excel. The project “Ecomind – AI Emotional Diary” by Le Quy Don Gifted High School outperformed many teams to win first prize. Second place went to the project “Edunova – Unlocking Educational Potential” from Ong Ich Khiem High School (Da Nang), and third place was awarded to the project “Smart Chair Supporting Elderly and Disabled People” by Tra On High School (Vinh Long).

Additionally, the judging panel selected the top three standout projects of the entire festival, including “QuizStar” from Quảng Trị High School, alongside “Fabric Color Classification System” (Da Nang) and “Automation Application in Agricultural Production” (Vinh Long). These results further affirm the remarkable progress of Quang Tri students in the digital technology field.

The Dariu Foundation is a Swiss non-governmental organization established in 2002 and active in Vietnam since 2003, aiming to support low-income communities through livelihood projects and educational programs, especially digital skills education. In Quang Tri, the foundation began its partnership in 2022 and has since become a key collaborator in promoting ICT education in the province.

Currently, The Dariu Foundation is working closely with the Quang Tri DOET to implement impactful initiatives such as teacher capacity-building training, providing and donating ICT and programming equipment, supporting STEM clubs, and narrowing the digital skills gap between urban and rural students. The foundation also offers scholarships to disadvantaged students and free vocational training for rural youth to create sustainable employment opportunities.

The 2025 Digital Technology Festival once again highlights the effectiveness of collaborations between educational authorities, schools, enterprises, and international organizations in developing high-quality digital human resources. The achievements of Quang Tri students not only demonstrate their capabilities but also mark a positive milestone in the implementation of digital education support projects across the province.
