The event was attended by Mr. Vu Ho, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Viet Nam to the Republic of Korea; and Mr. Lee Jin Seok, Chairman of the Korea Association of Travel Agents (KATA). Representing Hue City and Quang Tri Province were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee; Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Tram, Director of the Hue City Department of Tourism; Mr. Le Minh Tuan, Director of the Quang Tri Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and Mr. Nguyen The Huy, Deputy Director of the Quang Tri Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs. The program also drew the participation of nearly 100 delegates, including representatives of leading tourism authorities, travel agencies, airlines, and related businesses from Viet Nam and Seoul.

As part of the program, Hue City and Quang Tri Province jointly organized a wide range of activities to promote and develop local tourism. These included presentations on destinations, events, festivals, tourism products and services, particularly tourism stimulus programs; screenings of promotional films showcasing destinations, culture, tourism, and OCOP products; and B2B networking spaces for tourism businesses to exchange information, introduce and market tourism products and services, and sign cooperation agreements with partners.

Hue - Quang Tri Tourism Promotion and Air Route Promotion Program in Seoul and Busan, the Republic of Korea

At the working session, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee, introduced the cultural and tourism potential and strengths of Hue and Quang Tri. Thanks to the effective utilization of these local advantages, tourism in Hue and Quang Tri has recorded positive growth in recent years. In 2025, Hue City welcomed approximately 6.3 million visitors, including nearly 1.9 million international arrivals, with about 20,000 visitors from the Republic of Korea. Quang Tri Province received around 9.6 million visitors, including approximately 450,000 international tourists, of whom nearly 4,000 were from the Republic of Korea. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh expressed his hope that the organization of the Hue - Quang Tri tourism promotion and connectivity program, along with efforts to facilitate direct air routes between the Republic of Korea and Hue, would not only serve as a tourism promotion activity but also mark an important milestone, opening up opportunities for deeper cooperation between Hue, Quang Tri, and Korean authorities and partners in the fields of tourism, culture, and economic development.

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Le Minh Tuan, Director of the Quang Tri Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, affirmed that the authorities of Hue City and Quang Tri Province are committed to creating the most favorable conditions for stakeholders to facilitate the opening of air routes. He emphasized that Vietnamese tourism enterprises will continue to accompany and cooperate closely with Korean partners, and expressed his hope that Korean businesses will likewise work together to promote and spread the image of Hue - Quang Tri as attractive tourism destinations in the Republic of Korea. He also extended his sincere thanks to the authorities, localities, and businesses for their close coordination in successfully organizing the two Hue - Quang Tri tourism promotion programs in Seoul and Busan.

Earlier, the Quang Tri provincial delegation held working sessions with the Embassy of Viet Nam in the Republic of Korea and the Vietnam - Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA) to concretize the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Quang Tri Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs and VKBIA in September 2025. The discussions also focused on developing plans to strengthen the promotion of Quang Tri in the Republic of Korea, facilitate the opening of direct air routes, and advance investment and trade activities in the province.
