In response to the call from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, on October 10–11, 2025, the Party Committee and the Embassy of Vietnam in Laos organized a fundraising campaign to support people in provinces and cities heavily affected by recent storms and floods.

A large number of staff, representatives and their spouses from the Embassy, Vietnamese representative offices in Laos, Party sub-committees in Laos, and the Vietnamese community actively participated in the donations.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam stated that, upholding the nation’s precious tradition of solidarity and the spirit of “Helping Hands, Shared Hearts” and “Well leaves shelter torn leaves,” even while far from their homeland, every staff member of Vietnam’s representative offices and the Vietnamese community in Laos always keep their country at heart, sharing in the hardships of their fellow citizens back home and joining hands to help them overcome difficulties and losses, so they can quickly restore their lives.

As of now, the Embassy of Vietnam in Laos has compiled donations received both in cash and via bank transfer, totaling approximately VND 730 million. The Embassy also noted that it will continue to accept contributions from the Vietnamese community in Laos as well as from Vietnamese businesses investing and operating in the country. These meaningful acts reflect the strong bond and spirit of solidarity of overseas Vietnamese toward their homeland, contributing alongside local authorities in overcoming the aftermath of storms and floods and helping people quickly stabilize their lives.
