On the afternoon of March 11, 2026, at the headquarters of the Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, hosted a meeting with a delegation from Panasonic Vietnam and World Vision International in Vietnam (WVI). Also in attendance were representatives from the Administration Office of the Provincial People’s Committee, the Department of Foreign Affairs, and the Department of Finance. The Panasonic Vietnam delegation was led by Mr. Taka Fujino, General Director, while Ms. Vũ Thị Nga, Director of Program Operations, attended on behalf of World Vision International in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Mr. Taka Fujino, General Director of Panasonic Vietnam, symbolically presented 510 solar-powered lamps to households in villages without access to the national grid in Ta Rut and Huong Lap communes. The initiative is intended to improve living conditions, particularly by giving students better lighting for studying at home.

The two aid packages “Provision of 255 portable solar lamps for Huong Lap Commune” and “Provision of 255 portable solar lamps for Tà Rụt Commune” were approved by the Provincial People’s Committee under Decisions No. 2977a/QĐ-UBND and 2979a/QĐ-UBND dated December 5, 2025. All 510 lamps were funded by Panasonic Vietnam and implemented through World Vision International in Vietnam.

At the event, Mr. Taka Fujino, General Director of Panasonic Vietnam, shared that the “Light up the Future” program is a global Panasonic initiative aimed at supporting communities without reliable access to electricity. In Vietnam, the program focuses on areas that are not yet connected to the national grid or face shortages of power for daily use. Through this initiative, Panasonic seeks to contribute to a broader vision of health, well-being, and sustainable development in Vietnam. The program not only improves living conditions and expands livelihood opportunities in remote areas, but also crucially, gives Vietnamese children, the country’s future generation, better conditions for learning and everyday life. To date, with support from Panasonic’s headquarters in Japan, nearly 4,000 solar-powered lamps have been distributed across six provinces in Vietnam, bringing light, safety, and new opportunities to thousands of families and children.

Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee, shared “Quang Tri Province has a border stretching over 400 kilometers, home to many ethnic minority communities. While local authorities have made significant efforts to develop infrastructure, the area is frequently affected by natural disasters such as floods and landslides, resulting in power disruptions or outages in some locations. This support from Panasonic Vietnam will help bring light to local households, improve living conditions, and contribute to the province’s socio-economic development.”

Vice Chairman Hoang Xuan Tan expressed his hope that, in the coming time, Panasonic Vietnam and World Vision International in Vietnam will continue to expand their community support programs in Quang Tri, particularly in mountainous, remote, and underserved areas. He also encouraged them to act as a bridge in connecting the province with additional partners, businesses, and international organizations for cooperation and investment. The Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee reaffirmed its commitment to creating favorable conditions for businesses and international organizations to effectively implement aid programs, development projects, and investment activities in the province, thereby strengthening international cooperation and promoting sustainable local development.
