Quang Tri students proudly receive the “CSR Corporate Social Responsibility 2025” scholarship
On the afternoon of November 26, 2025, Mr. Thai Huu Lieu, Deputy Director of the Department, attended the “Korean Business Day - CSR Sharing Together 2025 Scholarship Award Ceremony,” co-organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam and the Korea Chamber of Business in Vietnam (KOCHAM). The event was attended by Korean Ambassador Choi Young Sam, Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ngo Le Van, representatives of ministries and agencies, and leaders and staff from 39 Korean enterprises in Vietnam such as Samsung Electronics, Shinhan Bank, Lotte Properties, Hyundai Kefico, and Hanwha Aero Engines. A total of 94 outstanding students received scholarships, including 10 students from Quang Tri province.

CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) represents a company’s commitment to contributing to the sustainable development of the community. Through initiatives such as scholarship programs, educational support, environmental protection, and community development, CSR activities not only demonstrate corporate values and responsibility but also help strengthen cooperation between businesses and the localities where they operate. KOCHAM’s CSR scholarship program is one of its signature annual initiatives, designed to support disadvantaged students and encourage young people to pursue their aspirations.
Since its launch in 2015, the program has awarded nearly 1,000 scholarships to Vietnamese students, becoming one of the most sustainable and impactful CSR initiatives between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea. The 2025 event is especially meaningful amid global economic challenges, underscoring the continued efforts of Korean businesses to support local communities.
In recent years, Vietnam and the Republic of Korea have become top strategic partners. Korea is currently the largest foreign investor in Vietnam, with more than 10,300 projects and a total investment of over USD 94 billion. It is also Vietnam’s second-largest partner in development cooperation and tourism, and third in trade and labor cooperation. Conversely, Vietnam is Korea’s largest economic partner in ASEAN, accounting for 30% of Korean investment and 50% of Korea-ASEAN trade. The two countries aim to raise bilateral trade to USD 100 billion by 2025 and USD 150 billion by 2030 in a balanced and sustainable manner.

Beyond economic cooperation, Korean businesses in Vietnam are increasingly shifting investment toward high-tech industries, energy, finance-banking, and high-quality services, helping create new momentum for industrialization and modernization. According to Deputy Minister Ngo Le Van, CSR programs, especially scholarships, play a practical role in helping Vietnamese students overcome difficulties, enhance their knowledge, and access professional working environments. These efforts also contribute to developing high-quality human resources, an essential pillar of Vietnam’s development strategy.
Currently, around 45,000 Vietnamese students are studying in Korea. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this group will serve as “people’s ambassadors,” strengthening mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and friendship between the two nations in the future.

Ambassador Choi Young Sam stressed that CSR scholarships demonstrate the confidence Korean enterprises place in the talent and potential of Vietnamese youth. He affirmed that Korea will continue to accompany Vietnam on its journey toward becoming a high-income country by 2045.

For the 10 scholarship recipients from Quang Tri, this achievement is not only a source of pride for the province but also a motivation for the students to strive further. The support from Korean businesses provides valuable opportunities for Vietnamese youth to access better education and development prospects, enabling them to contribute positively to the country’s progress.
