Work with the officers of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam

On the afternoon of December 9, 2014, Mr. Tran Tien Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee receiced and worked with Mr. Teppei Munakata, officer of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam to call for funding for the Project of UXO detection and disposal in Quang Binh (MAG Quang Binh project)

 

MAG Quang Binh project was funded by Mines Advisory Group organization (MAG - UK) and has been implemented in Quang Binh since 2003, through 4 stages, with the total funding of about $14 million. During 12 years of implementation, the project has collected and disposed more than 85,000 UXO in more than 1,200 villages of Quang Binh province.

At the meeting, the Vice Chairman of PPC briefed the situation of UXO contamination and clearance operation of MAG in Quang Binh, appreciated the support that Japanese government has given to Quang Binh in recent years, and proposed the Japanese Embassy to consider funding for the UXO clearance operation of MAG in Quang Binh in future.

 

Work with Mr. Teppei Munakata at the Provincial People's Committee


Within his trip to Quang Binh, Mr. Teppei Munakata also visited the operation of MAG Quang Binh in Bo Trach and Minh Hoa district in order to survey and evaluate the implementation situation of project.
