High-Tech Agriculture Exchange and Cooperation in Japan

From March 24 to 28, an official delegation from Quang Tri Province, led by Mr. Le Van Bao, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, conducted a working visit to Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.

During the visit, the delegation held official talks with the Yamanashi prefectural government and undertook field visits to a number of advanced and exemplary agricultural production models in the prefecture. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to enhance the exchange of expertise and to further strengthen cooperation in high-tech agriculture between the two localities.

Yamanashi Prefecture, renowned for its premium fruit-growing regions, hosted the Quang Tri delegation for a series of field visits and working engagements. During the program, the delegation toured local orchards and observed agricultural models that integrate production with agri-tourism. They also examined clean cultivation practices and the application of advanced technologies in farm management and product traceability.

The delegation further held a formal working session with the Yamanashi Fruit Tree Experiment Station, focusing on key areas including varietal development, quality control of agricultural products, and the advancement of high-tech agricultural value chains. The exchange provided valuable insights into the application of science and technology, automation, and digital transformation in agricultural production and marketing, thereby opening new avenues for the sustainable development of Quang Tri’s agricultural sector.

Delegation’s Field Survey of Advanced Agricultural Production Models in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan

At the working session, Mr.Le Van Bao, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee, underscored the province’s commitment to effectively implementing the contents of the signed cooperation agreements, while outlining orientations to expand collaboration through 2030. Key priority areas include technology transfer, human resource development, and the strengthening of high-value agricultural supply chains.

The delegation also proposed that Yamanashi Prefecture support the promotion, exhibition, and market access of Quang Tri’s distinctive agricultural products in Japan, as well as enhance cooperation in the development of smart and circular agriculture models aligned with digital transformation.

The working visit not only enabled Quang Tri Province to gain practical exposure to advanced agricultural production models, but also contributed to strengthening its capacity in governance and the organization of modern agricultural production. It thereby supports the ongoing restructuring of the agricultural sector in tandem with the application of science and technology and digital transformation, with a view to achieving sustainable agricultural development in the years ahead.

As part of the working visit to Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, the delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan to enhance information exchange, strengthen partner linkages, and promote the expansion of cooperation in the coming period.
