During the meeting with His Excellency Yaron Mayer, Ambassador of Israel to Vietnam, the Department of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude for the warm reception and acknowledged the mutual interest in deepening cooperation and the ongoing support from the Israeli Embassy. The delegation briefed the Ambassador on post-merger Quang Tri, which now covers 12,700 km², has a population of approximately 1.87 million, and comprises 78 administrative units, including 8 wards, 69 communes, and 1 special zone. Deputy Director Thai Huu Lieu highlighted the province’s synchronized infrastructure and strategic advantages, including three international border gates with Laos (Lao Bao, La Lay, and Cha Lo), two airports (Dong Hoi, operational, and Quan Ngang, under construction), and two deep-water seaports (Hon La and My Thuy). These assets position Quang Tri as an attractive destination for investors. The delegation proposed that the Ambassador facilitate connections with Israeli investors for pilot projects in education exchange, labor export, peer-level local government cooperation, clean energy, and renewable energy, laying the groundwork for larger initiatives in the future.

Ambassador Yaron Mayer welcomed the delegation and noted that post-merger Quảng Trị possesses exceptional potential to attract investment. He emphasized Israel’s strengths in technology, innovation, plastic waste recycling, high-tech agriculture, and renewable energy, pledging support to Quang Tri in these areas.

It proposed expanding collaboration in disaster prevention and climate change response, pressing priorities for the province.

Deputy Ambassador Edel Cribbin expressed appreciation that the Quang Tri Department of Foreign Affairs was the first partner to visit and engage since her appointment 10 days prior.
